Missing plugin HUD

I recently installed KSP and am fairly new to the game. To help myself out I figured I would try Mechjeb out. However, after installing the files (parts in parts folder, plugins in plugins folder) I receive the parts in games, but I'm not greeted with the HUD. I know there's supposed to be a tab on the right hand side that opens up to all of the options but that is missing completely.
